Despite failing to qualify for Euro 2008, Northern Ireland had a glorious qualifying campaign, restoring some of the glory days of the past. Windsor Park once again became a fortress, beating both Sweden and Spain. Now, in order to make any progress, Northern Ireland will have to maintain their great home record, while rapidly improving their away performances. True, we find it hard to see the Northern Irish qualifying, but finishing 3rd or 4th, will be concidered as a respectable achievement.
Bottom Line: This campaign will determine whether the last one was a fluke.
